Busted!

Just received an email from my sis.

Sarah at RSJ&A sounds like a very astute lady. Enjoy...

Europe 2010 - Tag Team Tours Ltd

I've finally got this years big trip booked. Got a free return crossing through the Channel Tunnel courtesy of Tesco and I've taken 3 weeks off work with no plans other than 'go for a play around Europe'. Biking on a wing and a prayer. That's the easy bit.

Now for the complicated bit. Sam's currently out in Magaluf or something with her glowsticks and whistle. She's gonna come out to play for a bit before hopping on a flight back to Blighty. There's a flight home booked from Verona, so Lake Garda is pretty inevitable.

Sam's not done a lot of Italy. In fact she's been once. And that was only for a quick morning coffee. Literally one coffee. We were camping in France a few years ago and woke up one morning with just an Alpine pass between us and great coffee. In, coffee, out. She therefore speaks less Italian than me. And I only know 'ciao'. But I swear that's all you need to know. It's never ever let me down so game on!

Sam's gonna fly back home and tag Catherine, who's gonna fly out and join me for a week or so. Dunno where, dunno when. Actually, given Catherine's past performance I honestly don't know how or if. Maybe Sam can help her find her passport and give her head a good shake while she's at it. And remind her that her car insurance has expired, just for good measure.

So then, what could possibly go wrong? I've got 3 weeks touring on a bike that's got a pretty high 'oops that's not supposed to happen' rate. I'll be joined at random intervals by my ex-wife and massively unreliable sister. At least I will be if all of the necessary flights happen to run as scheduled. And at least one of those flights is with Ryanair.

'You know, this is one of these times that I'm absolutely 100 million percent sure that you'd be doing the right thing. I can safely say that you definitely definitely won't regret doing that...'

Isle of Man TT 2010

Was over in Isle of Man from 4 to 13 June for the TT. Absolute quality! Big thanks to Jon, Kev, Neil, Pikey and Sarah for a week of utter biking debauchery.

Nice to get the sports bikes overloaded with luggage and roll onto a ferry with JD again. It's defo been three years too long!

If you're real quick you can catch all the highlights on ITV player before it expires. Oh, and watch out for us at Rhencullen in Fridays senior footage. If that's all a bit too complicated then jump straight into a game of Where's Wally using the pics below.

You really can't knock the TT. The racing, riding and atmosphere can't be beat. Apart from the cost of ferries and digs, which rocket due to the old supply and demand thing, everything else is cool. Beer is normal price, public entertainment is free and even the official tat is cheap. The entire mountain section is one-way outside race times, with no speed limits. And then when racing kicks off you get to stand mere inches away from the worlds best road racing.

The guys (and gals) racing that circuit have balls of steel. Full credit to the lot of 'em and ta for a great week of racing. And big congrats to Ian Hutchinson for his historic clean sweep.

Ferry is already booked for 2011!
